KATHMANDU, APRIL 27

The government has banned all foreign nationals from using Nepal as a transit point en route to third countries.

Issuing a notice on Tuesday, the Department of Immigration said that all foreign nationals will be banned from using Tribhuvan International Airport as a transit point for third countries following the sharp spike of a new variant of coronavirus infection in the country.

The ban will be effective from midnight on April 28 (Baisakh 15), informed the DOI.

However, this ban will not affect those foreign nationals who make the country a final destination or leaving the country, the notice added.
