KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 13

The Nepal government has decided to ban the social media platform TikTok.

The government spokesperson and Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, shared the decision to ban TikTok, made during a recent cabinet meeting, today. This decision was taken due to TikTok's negative impact on social harmony, Minister Sharma said.

"The decision to ban TikTok will be implemented shortly, but no specific deadline has been set," according to Minister Sharma.

"The necessary arrangements in this regard will be made by the Ministry of Communications".
