Govt formulating new laws to implement Constitution

KATHMANDU: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Kharel has said the incumbent government's first priority is to ensure good governance to the citizens by making laws at the federal, provincial and local levels.

At a news conference organised in the Ministry today, Minister Kharel said that many new laws were needed immediately in line with the new Constitution.

Likewise, as many as 315 existing Acts should be corrected in line with the new Constitution, he informed.

He said that the laws would be made by making coordination with the ministries concerned and line agencies, on a priority basis.

Likewise, the ministry has also formed a Directive Committee led by Law Secretary Bheshraj Sharma for carrying out directions, coordination, prioritisation, monitoring and evaluation for the formulation of laws and making the lists of the needed laws by making the Constitution a basis.
