KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment has prepared a draft of the Environmental Impact Assessment Guidelines 2015 to make EIA transparent, simple, easy and speedy. EIA is a planning tool that can be applied to any development project to reduce potential negative environmental impacts by specifying appropriate mitigation measures.

The proposed EIA Guidelines will help identify potential environmental impacts and analyse the significance of environmental impacts, determine whether the impacts can be mitigated and recommend preventive and mitigative measures.
