KATHMANDU: After 20 months of their retirement, the government on Friday promoted four Deputy Inspector Generals of Nepal Police to the position of Additional Inspector General as the Supreme Court had ordered for their promotion creating special vacancies. The retired DIGs promoted are Yadav Adhikari, Parashu Ram Khatri, Bishwo Raj Shahi and Sushil Bar Singh Thapa. Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai said the Cabinet has decided to promote them right from their retirement date — August 14, 2014. Similarly, the Cabinet meeting also decided to send the online news portal operation directive-2072 BS to the concerned committee for further discussion.
