Govt withdraws public holiday called for Friday

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday said it revised the notice issued on Sunday which had granted a public holiday on coming Friday, April 21.

MoHA issued a statement today and said no holiday would be observed on the day of the arrival of President Bidya Devi Bhandari from New Delhi after completing her five-day state visit to India.

Earlier, while granting the holiday for today to mark the departure of President, the government had announced that the holiday would be observed on Friday as well.

The decision, however, was widely criticised.
