Govt working hard to address political demands of agitators, claims PM
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala said the government is working tirelessly to address political demands raised by various groups and parties regarding the constitution drafting process.
Responding to a delegation of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) at his residence in Baluwatar today, the Prime Minister said the major parties have decided to slow down the constitution writing process in order to take disgruntled parties on board.
The FNCCI delegation led by its President Pashupati Murarka had met the Prime Minister to apprise him of effects of recent political turmoils in the national economy.
The businesspersons were of the view that political concerns should be addressed politically.
They also asked the government to provide needful security to traders and their businesses during the time of bandhs and strikes, PM’s press coordinator Prakash Adhikari said after the meeting.
In response, the Prime Minister said the government has kept peace and security at its first priority.
Minister for Finance Ram Sharan Mahat, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Bimalendra Nidhi and Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Mahesh Acharya were also present at the meeting.
