KATHMANDU:

The government has decided to open three routes as an alternative to existing the Laskar Marg route with an objective of making Choyu (8,201 metre) a climbing mountain. The government decided to opening the route Kathmandu-Lukla-Namche-Gokyo Njumbakhang Chuli to Choyu, giving permission for climbing Choyu along with the Njumbakhag Chuli (7,743 metre) free of royalty, said the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
