Grande Hospital starts kidney transplant op
KATHMANDU: The Grande International Hospital announced that it has become the first private hospital to begin the kidney transplant service.
According to the hospital, a team of doctors successfully carried out a kidney transplant operation on Monday with Rabin Lama of Gokarneshwor receiving a kidney from his sister Uma.
A team of doctors, led Prof Dr Prem Raj Gyawali, had carried out the operation.
At a press conference organised at the hospital today, Prof Gyawali informed that it took three hours and 33 minutes to carry out the operation. "After four days, both of them them are normal now and ready to get discharged," he said.
