KATHMANDU, MAY 25
Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, has announced that construction of the flyover at Gwarko, Lalitpur, will be completed by mid-June.
During an inspection of the project site this morning, Minister Dahal stated that no further delays would be tolerated in the completion of the work. He added that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the flyover should be ready for vehicular operation by mid-June.
Keshab Kumar Sharma, Secretary at the Ministry, noted that some technical issues encountered during the construction phase have now been resolved.
Ramhari Pokharel, Director General of the Department of Roads, emphasized the project's importance for traffic management in the Kathmandu Valley.
According to the Department, the major construction work has already been completed.
The project, with a budget of Rs 176 million, was originally slated for completion by February 23, 2024; however, that deadline was not met.
