Hanumandhoka Durbar Square premises cleaned up

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML organised a cleaning programme at Hanumandhoka durbar premises this morning.

The cleanliness programme was organised as part of the national volunteers mobilisation campaign initiated by the party since the April 25 Gorkha earthquake.

Officiating, President of the party and Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam, led the team of leaders and volunteers, who cleaned up the palace premises. Also present were Vice-chair Yubaraj Gyawali, Deputy Secretary General Bishnu Poudel, Surendra Pandey, Shanker Pokharel among others.

Under the campaign, the party has so far constructed 22,567 makeshift homes, temporary shelters for 978 schools and removed debris from 20,448 houses damaged in the earthquake, according to the party sources.
