Health related Bills passed unopposed by HoR
Public Health Bill passed
KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR), lower house of the Federal Parliament, has passed the 'Public Health Bill, 2075 BS', unopposed.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, presented a proposal seeking passage of the Bill in the HoR meeting today.
Before this, Minister Yadav had presented a proposal seeking deliberations on the Public Health Bill along with the report of Education and Health Committee of the parliament.
Only lawmaker Prem Suwal participated in the discussion on the proposal. He complained that time allocated for discussion on the Bill was not adequate.
Responding to queries by lawmakers, Health and Population Minister Yadav said, the Bill incorporated topic on management and regulation of health institutions operated by the government, cooperatives and non-government sectors. The Bill has ensured the health rights of the people, he added.
The House meeting also approved the proposal to incorporate the committee's amendment to Clauses 1-60 of the Bill.
