Health services at just Rs 100!

Kathmandu, May 25

Getting health services at affordable prices in Kathmandu is beyond one’s imagination. However, Samata Hospital, Kumarigal, is providing health services to the elderly and disabled people for just Rs 100.

The hospital provides services related to dental, ENT, eye, cardiology, gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology, pathology, x-ray, ultrasound and echocardiogram, among others.

“We opened the hospital so that no one would be deprived of healthcare just because of lack of money,” said Uttam Sanjel, founder of the hospital.

The hospital also plans to run in-patient department in near future.  “We had started the service earlier, but the people who were admitted to the hospital didn’t return to their houses even after treatment. Therefore, we had to close the service,” said Sanjel.

The hospital has also been providing ambulance services for the needy people for free. Along with free ambulance services, the hospital has also been providing whole body check-up for Rs 1,500.  “We are running the hospital for the needy and poor patients who are deprived of health services in the country,” said Ajay Adhikari, one of the members of the hospital management team.

Manju Gautam, a patient at the hospital, shared her happiness at getting health services at a nominal price.

The hospital provides health services from 8:00am to 8:30pm every day. The hospital provides health services to 300 patients a day.
