Health training camp for housewives

BHAKTAPUR: The National Women Savings and Credit Cooperatives (NWSCC) today organised a one-day training camp on uterus and breast cancer for housewives hailing from remote parts of Bhaktapur district.

Ranju Napit, president of NWSCC told The Himalayan Times that the training was organised to spread awareness among housewives on uterus and breast cancer. "Earlier, women used to neglect their health, but these days they are showing an interest to learn ways to take care of their health," she said.

"As cases of uterus and breast cancer are on the rise in Bhaktapur, it is important to make housewives aware of the diseeases and impart knowledge on how they can prevent them," she further said.

Altogether, 63 housewives from remote parts of Bhaktapur such as Bageshwori, Sudal, Chhaling, Nagarkot and Bhaktapur Municipality participated in the training programme.
