Health volunteers in Lalitpur cry for national recognition
LALITPUR: About 500 health volunteers working in Lalitpur Metropolitan City are deprived of national recognition.
They rue that they are deprived of even ordinary services and facilities provided by the government to national volunteers.
"Even those volunteers who have worked for over three decades in Lalitpur metropolis have not been nationally recognised. We have not been given the recognition although we have been carrying out the responsibilities entrusted upon us by the government," Purushottam Karki, the president of Lalitpur Health Network, shared.
According to him, health volunteers working in the metropolis have not even been imparted required training for four years now.
At present, there are 600 health volunteers working in Lalitpur metropolis and only 133 of them have received national recognition.
