KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 8

The government has formed a high-level committee to investigate the sale of shares in Ncell, the telecommunications service provider based in Nepal, as announced by Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma.

The Minister declared the formation of the committee during a press briefing today.

In a meeting on Thursday, the Council of Ministers constituted the five-member committee, with former Auditor General Tankamani Sharma (Dangal) appointed as its head. The committee has been tasked with presenting its findings to the government within the next 30 days.

The members of the committee include Government Secretary Phanindra Gautam, Joint Secretary Ritesh Kumar Shakya from the Finance Ministry, Joint Secretary Baburaj Bhandari from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and ICAN President Sujan Kumar Kafle.
