Home Minister pays surprise visit to Metropolitan Police Circle

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has paid a surprise visit to the Metropolitan Police Circle in Anamnagar, Kathmandu, at 10:15 am today.

During his visit, Minister Thapa inspected the complaint section, women section, detention cell and a store room. He directed the Nepal Police personnel to be dedicated towards the security of people.

The police personnel were having their lunch, when they were taken by surprise to see Minister Thapa before them.

The Minister too had his lunch with them, along with his team, who had accompanied him in the visit.

Stating that he was aware of the discrimination in Nepal Police ration system in comparison to other security bodies, Minister Thapa said he would do his best to end such inequality.

Earlier this morning the Home Minister had also visited Nakkhu Prison, the Metropolitan Police Range in Jawalakhel, and the Metropolitan Police Sector in Pulchowk in Lalitpur district.
