KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 5

The Election Commission (EC) has announced that the printing of ballot papers for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category has been completed for 60 constituencies.

According to EC Assistant Spokesperson Kul Bahadur KC, a total of 7.26 million ballot papers have been printed for the direct election to the House of Representatives, scheduled for March 5. He told RSS that the packing of printed ballot papers for 25 districts has also been completed so far.

With the exception of a few districts in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, the printing of ballot papers has now been accomplished. Altogether, 20.32 million ballot papers are required for the FPTP category of the election.

Ballot papers for the proportional representation category have already been printed. The printing work is being carried out at the Janak Education Materials Centre.

The EC stated that priority has been given to districts in remote and mountainous regions. Preparations are underway to dispatch all printed ballot papers by February 15.
