House meeting continues amid protests from UDMF lawmakers

KATHMANDU: Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar on Monday continued House proceedings amid sloganeering by lawmakers of the agitating Madhes-based parties.

The Parliament briefly held a discussion over the Constitution Amendment Bill also.

Lawmakers of various parties aired their views over the Bill.

Meanwhile, the Parliament endorsed the Bill on Pokhara Health Science Academy.

Before this, the House had held discussions over the Bill on Amendment to the Education Act.

Lawmakers affiliated to constituent parties of the United Democratic Madhesi Front, however, are chanting slogans in the well of the House.

The UDMF has been demanding that the House proceedings stop until its demands are met.

After a meeting for one and half hours, Gharti announced adjournment of the House till 1 pm on Tuesday.
