House to meet today

KATHMANDU: Though the big three parties are yet to find a way out of the present political imbroglio including continuous House obstruction by UCPN-Maoist lawmakers, the House session has been slated for Wednesday also.

However, it is not certain whether the House would be able to proceed on its business as the UCPN-Maoist has not retreated from its protests demanding civilian supremacy. The government has not been able to endorse the budget for this fiscal year. As a result the country has been suffering from fund scarcity and Minister for Finance Surendra Pandey has already warned that his ministry would not be able to release salaries for the ministers, lawmakers, Nepal Army and Nepal Police personnel among others if the House would not endorse the budget for this fiscal year.
