KATHMANDU, JANUARY 12

Health and Population Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet has declared that he would personally break any padlock placed on Bir Hospital.

Speaking at a program organized by the National Academy of Medical Sciences at Bir Hospital to inaugurate the mammography service, Minister Basnet acknowledged the issue of certain individuals spending their duty hours without performing their responsibilities, while another group works around the clock.

He stated, 'A group has been engaging in activities with the objective of defaming me.' Inaugurating the service, the Health Minister mentioned that the positive initiatives, such as starting the OPD service from 8:00 am and setting up a separate ward for VIP treatment, send a positive message. A mammogram is a device used for screening breast cancer.

Minister Basnet emphasized the need for special arrangements for the treatment of cardiac-related diseases, in addition to cancer treatment.

Similarly, Prof. Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Basnet, the Vice-Chancellor of NAMS, highlighted the installation of modern equipment with 3D technology in the hospital.

He also mentioned plans to increase the capacity of the ICU and introduce teaching of the MBBS subject in the new academic session.
