ICJ memo on disappearance bill
KATHMANDU: International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the government demanding promulgation of Enforced Disappearance (Crime and Punishment) Act at the earliest.
The ICJ sought an amendment in the ordinance that was promulgated by the previous government.
Vincent Calderhead, country director, ICJ Nepal, submitted the memorandum to Rakam Chemgjong, minister for peace and reconstruction, urging him to amend the bill and to ensure the victims’ reparation.
