Idols stolen from Lalitpur's Rudrayani Temple

KATHAMANDU: Two idols were reportedly stolen from the Rudrayani Temple near Bungmati River of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-21 on Thursday night.

According to police, an unidentified gang broke into the Rudrayani Temple and made off with two 1.5 feet tall brass idols electroplated with gold. The stolen items are an idol of the deity Rudrayani and another one with ‘Balkumari’ inscribed in it.

It has been learned that the priest of the temple used to padlock the gate every night before leaving for his residence.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the theft is underway and search is on for the burglars involved, said police
