IGP Aryal directs rank and file to be dutiful

KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Nepal Police Prakash Aryal directed the rank and file of the police force to be dutiful and prepared for the local level elections slated for May 14 and implementation of the Constitution and federalism.

Speaking at a programme at the police headquarters in the Capital on Wednesday, Aryal told the policemen to carry out their duties maintaining high morale.

The programme was organised to welcome Aryal, who assumed his office yesterday late night.

Showing respect to human rights, rule of law and civilian supremacy, he said, Nepal Police will be mobilised as per the Constitution, existing laws and government's directives.

AIGP Dinesh Chandra Pokhrel, who served as the Acting Police Chief, delivered a welcome speech at the function attended by senior police officials.

Aryal expressed his gratitude to the government for promoting him to the post of Nepal Police's Inspector general acknowledging his "professional ethics and capability"
