IGP’s directives to police force
Kathmandu, April 3:
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Om Bikram Rana, today directed senior police officers to work as per the people’s aspirations.
“If police personnel coordinate with the local representatives of political parties and people
to bring peace and security, crime will be easily controlled,” a Nepal Police press statement quoted IGP Rana as saying.
He further stated that the recent commitment of the eight political parties to prevent illegal activities, including forceful collection of donations and possession of illegal arms, has encouraged the police force to control criminal activities and maintain peace and security in the nation.
Rana said that the police force should immediately start work for providing security to the people during the forthcoming Constituent Assembly elections.
