Kirtipur: Number of students registering for doctorate under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FoHSS) of the Tribhuvan University has nearly doubled this year, thanks to the revised flexible policy of the FoHSS. “The Dean office has adopted a policy of announcing date for viva at the earliest for any student who submits a PhD dissertation so that the student needn’t wait unnecessarily and we make sure this policy is followed very strictly,” said Professor Dr Ramesh Raj Kunwar, the faculty Dean. —HNS
PABSON call to govt :
Kathmandu: Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation Nepal (PABSON) today urged the Ministry of Education and Sports to take initiative to end the educational strike called by the All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) from January 18. The ANNISU-R has closed down educational institutions in the Eastern Development Region since January 18. As a result, the sent up examination of School Leaving Certificate that began from January 23 was badly affected. Issuing a press release on Tuesday, the PABSON stated that government must act responsibly to end the strike.It urged the government and the bandh-callers to sit for talks to resolve the problem. —HNS
