PM’s condolence message

KATHMANDU: In a condolence message on Sunday, PM Sher Bahadur Deuba expressed sorrow at the sad demise of 40 people, including the bridegroom Lok Raj Rijal, and injury to 15 others, including bride Nirmala Adhikari, when the bus carrying the marriage party from Dang Deukhuri to Bijuwar fell into Madi river on Friday. He has also wished for the recovery of the injured. — RSS

Over Rs 3 lakh looted

KATHMANDU: Goods and cash worth Rs 320,000 was looted from the house of Krishna Dev Manandhar, a resident of KMC-19, Dhokatole, on Saturday. Police said the thieves who broke into the house made off with Rs 150,000, a gold necklace along with silver ornaments and a cassette player. Similarly, Rs 16,000 was looted from a hotel owned by Sita Sharma at Gothatar. — HNS

Training on NTFP

BHAKTAPUR: A five-day training on non-timber forest products (NTFP), identification of herbs, conservation and utilisation concluded here recently under the joint auspices of Jalpadevi community forest users’ group, Telkot, and Bhaktapur district forest office.
