Man missing
KATHMANDU: Bhimsen Dhakal, an employee at a printing press at New Banes-wore, is reported to have been arrested by security men in plainclothes early on Thursday morning. Dhakal, who hailed from Hat-iya VDC-4 of Makwanpur, was taken from the press. He was living at New Baneswore, KMC- 34. Issuing an appeal on Saturday, his younger brother Gopal, requested all concerned to help find Bhimsen. — HNS
New PABSON body
KATHMANDU: The eighth convention of the Private and Boarding Schools Organisation Nepal (PABSON), Kathmandu districts, elected on Friday a 14-member panel with Deepak Kumar Gurung as president. Bijaya Sambahamphe is the vice president, Gopal Acharya secretary, and Shiv Kumar Shrestha joint secretary. It also announced the names of 23 representatives along with three females for the general convention. — HNS
Stress to preserve culture
KATHMANDU: Speakers at a seminar organised on Saturday by the Nepali cultural conservation council stressed the need for the state to accord top priority to the development of the nation’s heritage like langua-ge, culture and literature. Former PM Lokendra Bahadur Chand said all Nepalis sho-uld contribute to the preservation and promotion of national culture. Culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi expressed concern at the way culture is being neglected. Council chairman Dr Mukunda Raj Aryal called for widespread awareness about culture. — RSS
Meet on child literature
KATHMANDU: The two-day 15th Child Literature Conference began here from Friday. The conference was hosted jointly by the Nepal Child Literature Society and Siddarth Banasthali Boarding School. Some 65 persons related to the field are participating in the conference. — RSS
