Discussion on water law
KATHMANDU:
Experts on water supply and sanitation on Friday discussed various aspects of the prevailing laws related to water. They pointed out the government had enough provision to secure its ownership but is contradicting its own laws, regarding duties and responsibilities. Basanta Prasad Adhikari, assistant professor and advocate discussed human rights declarations, Water Resource Act 1992, Drinking Water Regulations 1998, Local Self-governance Act 1999 among others. —HNS
Myanmar journos’ visit

TU publishes results
KATHMANDU:
Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering Examination Control Division has published the results of the graduate-level Architectural Programme fourth-year second portion regular and re-examinations held in the month of Ashwin. It has also published the results of the graduate-level 2059 group second year second portion (thesis only) regular examinations of all the groups, it is stated. — RSS
FNJ Bhaktapur meet

Central chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists Taranath Dahal has said that the media workers have to do their duty carefully during conflict situation like the one now. He said this at the inauguration programme of the third district convention of the FNJ Bhaktapur branch on Thursday. Sapkota to get Sajha Prize
KATHMANDU:
Story writer Dhruva Sapkota has been named the recipient of the Sajha Prize-2060 BS for his collection of stories titled Andhakar. The prize which is awarded every year to the best article published from Sajha Publications carries a purse of Rs 25,000 and a copper plaque. — RSS
Minister for Germany
KATHMANDU:
Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ishwar Pokharel left here on Friday for Hanover, Germany, leading a Nepalese delegation to the world famous International Carpet Trade Fair Domotex-2005 to be organised there beginning on Saturday and lasting till January 18. Attractive samples of carpets manufactured in Nepal will be exhibited at the trade fair. — RSS
