NBA’s call

KATHMANDU: President of the Nepal Bar Association Bishwo Kanta Mainali on Wednesday urged the political parties and other organisations not to call bandhs and transport strikes from March 3 to 10. Stating that the lawyers’ conference is being organised in this period, the president of the lawyers’ umbrella organisation said, “Lawyers across the country are going to participate in the conference. Therefore, any kind of bandh and transport strike will

CA team’s suggestion

LALITPUR: A study team of CA members on climate change and natural resources has suggested the government to introduce effective policies to tackle with climate change and reduce the risks associated with climate change. The team also recommended formulation of plans at the central level on risk reduction and immediately implement the plan in association with all stakeholders concerned. The team was presenting the summary of its study visit on Tuesday. A 13-member team of CA members led by Sunil Babu Panta had gone for study visit to Chitwan and Nawalparasi with the support from National Nature Conservation Trust and Practical action. The team’s report calls for amendment to National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act and lay more stress on biodiversity conservation and management. — RSS
