King to be felicitated

KATHMANDU: King Gyanendra is to receive religious felicitations to be presented by the World Hindu Federation on Friday morning. King Gyanendra is the only Hindu monarch in the world. Queen Komal is also scheduled to participate in the programme. The function will be participated in by Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Shikh religious organisations of the Om family and as well as by distinguished persons of the federation from 12 countries. RSS

Four held with hashish

KATHMANDU: The Narcotic Drugs Law Enforcement Unit arrested five persons along with a large amount of hashish. The police arrested three people including Jetha Tamang (56) of Tistung-3, Makwanpur, with 11-kg of hashish on Wednesday. Similarly Rajan Raj Shrestha (45) of KMC-27, Jyatha was arrested along with 1.6-kg of hashish. He was trying to send the narcotic to Japan through a courier.

Jewellery, cash stolen

KATHMANDU: Thieves stole property worth Rs 150,000 from the rented room of Govinda Sharma Poudel at Battisputali on Thursday afternoon. According to the police, some 12 tolas of golden jewellery and currency worth Rs 30,000 was stolen by the thieves.
