Healthy kids’ contest held

KATHMANDU: Saurav Neupaney was announced the healthiest and smartest child in the Healthy and Smart Child Contest organised by Sitaram Gokul Mills (Kathmandu) Limited. Pranam Ojha and Sandip Khadka won second and third prizes, respectively. The organisers gifted Rs 21,000, a shield and a letter of appreciation to Neupaney. Along with letters of appreciation cash prizes of Rs 15,000 and Rs 9,000 were awarded to Ojha and Khadka, in that order. The porgramme was held on Saturday.

Need of alternate highway

KATHMANDU: Participants of an interaction on Sunday expressed their concern over the urgency of construction of an alternative highway to join the capital city with the plains of the south. They demanded revival of the dormant project of construction of a highway along the Bagmati river. They urged the government to choose the most feasible road route among the eight which were designed and are awaiting to be realised. The progarmme was organised by Bagmati Corridor Road Concerned Committee.

Temple at Ramkot VDC

KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Swasthani Poornima, the Kathmandu DDC chairman Bikram Bahadur Thapa laid the foundation stone for the temple of Kalpeswar Mahadev to be constructed at Jayantipur in Ward No-8 of Ramkot VDC on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Thapa said the construction of the temple would add to the popularity of Jayantipur which has been mentioned in the ancient Swasthani story. RSS

Blood donation

KATHMANDU: The Sitapaila Multipurpose Cooperatives and Anubhavi Ashram jointly organised a blood donation programme at Dandapauwa in Ramkot VDC on Saturday. At the programme, 60 persons including men and women donated blood. RSS
