Special security plan

BHAKTAPUR: Metropolitan Police Sector (MPS), Bhaktapur, implemented special security plans for Bhaktapur during the Dashain festival. Puspa Chandra Ranjit, SP at the sector, said on Monday the security personnel would be patrolling the district in motorcycle during the festival. “More personnel than before are deployed to curb crimes,” he said. Vulnerable areas of theft such as jewellery shops and busy marketplaces would be under surveillance. — HNS

Two held for pipe theft

BHAKTAPUR: Security personnel nabbed Raj Kumar Sah and Ram Babu Sah from Balkot, Bhaktapur, on Monday. The duo was accused of stealing 6,000 kg of pipe meant for Banepa Drinking Water Project. According to Balram Bista, Inspector, Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi, the pipes were found at a store in Balkot that sells scraps. — HNS
