NFD-N’s call

KATHMANDU: National Federation of the Disabled -Nepal has asked the legislative for ratifying the convention and Protocol (CDRP-2006) on the rights to disabled people. Birendra Raj Pokhrel, president of NFD-N said ratification on the convention would help ensure the fundamental rights to disabled and include it in the new constitution of the country. — HNS

NNTO’s new panel

MADHYAPUR THIMI: The ninth convention of Bhaktpaur district committee of Nepal National Teachers’ Organisation (NNTO) on Friday formed a new executive committee with Bhawani Khadka as the president. The convention elected Bidhya Chitrakar and Kancha Sijapati as vice-presidents, Hari Bhakta Bhadel as secretary, Kamala Ghimire as joint secretary,Tika Ram Galal as treasurer and Parbati Tamrakar as joint treasurer of the organisation. Similarly, Shyam Sundar Yama Shrestha, Rajendra Thapa, Radheshyam Hada, Suganda Risal, Parsuram Khatri and Ganesh Prasad Gautam have been elected as the members. The convention also elected Mahendra Gopal Karmacharya, Tara Man Joshi and Rekha Maskey as central representative of Nepal N Teachers’ Organisation, Bhaktapur. — HNS

Tremor recorded

KATHMANDU: An earthquake with 4.4 Richter scale was recorded in the Valley at 12:18 pm on Friday. According to National Seismological Centre, the quake had an epicentre in Chhunsadaha in Humla district. — RSS
