Police crackdown

Kathmandu: Superintendent of Police at the Metropolitan Police Crime Branch Sarvendra Khanal said police on Saturday arrested three persons on the charge of using firecrackers. "Further investigation into the case is underway," Khanal said, adding that over 10 persons have been released by issuing warning against using firecrackers. He also informed that the police had seized some 12 cartons of unclaimed firecrackers on Saturday. — HNS

Ambulance aid

MADHYAPUR THIMI: Dr Tikaman Baidhya, the Rotarian District Governor of Nepal, on Saturday handed over an ambulance to Valley Health Centre that has been run by Working Women and Child Welfare Council. The ambulance was provided by Rotary Club of Patan West and is worth about Rs 2.2 million. — RSS
