AP staffer bereaved

KATHMANDU: Father of Annapurna Post staffer Rameshwor Manandhar passed away on Friday. Siddhi Lal Manandhar, 64, who was suffering from high blood pressure, died in BP Memorial Hospital in Naxal. He is survived by two wives, three sons and three daughters. His final rites were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat

KIRTIPUR: Tribhuvan University’s Central Campus in Kirtipur is going to get connected with optical fibre network soon. Campus Chief Dr Mahesh Raj Dahal said 29 central departments, three research centres and offices of the Free Student Union and University Teachers’ Association would be connected with optical fibre so as to utilise the modern information technology in the university’s works. The network is believed to make the official proceedings of the country’s largest and oldest university faster and better. — RSS

Torana stolen

MADHYAPUR THIMI: The whole set of a torana made of artistic sculptures in the famous Mahalaxmi temple at Dhochhen in Bhaktapur was stolen on Thursday night. The priceless historically and religiously important torana was replaced 23 years ago after the original one was stolen then. Metropolitan Police Circle, Bhaktapur, said an investigation into the theft and a search for the thieves had been launched. — RSS
