Protest rally held

KATHMANDU: The Tamangsaling Autonomous State Council (TASC) on Sunday organised a protest rally demanding that an independent government should be formed for the CA polls and national consensus should be made through a round table conference. “The first phase of our struggle was oriented on publicity campaign aimed at preparing base for a national level movement,” said Rabindra Thing, secretary of TASC. The TASC’s rally started from Jorpati and went through various parts of the Valley before it converged into a gathering at Maitighar Mandala. — HNS

House panel’s meet

KATHMANDU: During the meeting of the Parliament’s Planning and Autonomous Governance Committee held on Sunday, secretary at the Ministry of Local Development (MoLD), Ram Kumar Shrestha, informed about the works carried out by MoLD and its offices. It is said the panel took note of the issues concerning waste management, VDC secretaries’ management and electoral constituencies development fund. The meeting was held under the convenorship of Shanta Shrestha. — RSS
