KATHMANDU: Chabahil chowk remained closed for an hour on Friday afternoon as locals demonstrated demanding action against GP Gautam, principal of the Kantipur Bidhya Mandir School at Chabahil, who allegedly raped a 11-year-old girl. Locals said Gautam allegedly raped the girl during a lunch break on December 6. Agitated kins of the girl also vandalised a micro bus of Gautam. Though a case was registered at the Boudha Metropolitan Police Circle on the same day, police are yet to catch the tainted principal. — HNS
Documentary on PM
LALITPUR: A documentary on the biography of Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress (NC), Girija Prasad Koirala, and his role for democratic movements of Nepal is going to be produced. The Nepal Cultural Association, a sister organisation of the NC, is going to make the documentary on the life of the premier. President of the Association, Tirtha Bahadur Thapa, said the documentary will be made with an aim of providing information to the public about the Prime Minister’s life. — RSS
Blood donated
KATHMANDU: The United Finance Limited organised a blood donation programme where 33 people donated blood, said the press statement of the company here on Friday. Director general of the company, Sanjeeb Bhattarai, said they will hold such programmes every year. Meanwhile, King’s college at Old Baneshwor held a blood donation function on the college premises on Friday. “50 persons donated blood at the function,” principal Rajesh Acharya said. — HNS
