Demo against IDP

KATHMANDU: All the educational consultancies on Sunday demonstrated against IDP Australia and Planet EDU in front of their office at Lal Durbar. A press release issued by the Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal said that both companies are not registered with any of the government authorities in Nepal. “The companies are not registered for providing education counselling services and conducting IELTS exam in Nepal,” stated the statement. — HNS

Khanal abducted

LALITPUR: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called for an unconditional release of journalist and folk singer Ram Prasad Khanal who was abducted by the Maoist-affiliated YCL cadres from Bhairahawa in Rupandehi on Saturday. “Khanal’s abduction is against the peace agreement signed between the government and the CPN-Maoist,” the NHRC stated in a press release. The NHRC has also urged the YCL to stop such activities. — RSS

KATHMANDU: Chief Election Commissioner Bhoj Raj Pokhrel said all should solve obstacles faced by the nation by being unified. Speaking with representatives of the organisations observing the CA polls, Pokhrel urged them to help hold the CA polls in a peaceful environment. — RSS
