4 held with fake notes

KATHMANDU: Two Nepali and two Indian nationals were arrested with 139 fake Nepali notes of 1,000 denomination from Dallu on Wednesday, police said. Those arrested were Bhim Shrestha of Dharan, Prem Singh of Birgunj, Dinesh Agrawal of Bhagalpur in India and Santosh Sharma of Rajasthan in India. — HNS

Rs 12m Indian grant

Kathmandu: The Indian Embassy has agreed to grant Rs 12.03 million to the Shree Nava Durga Secondary School in Kailali district. The embassy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kailali DDC and the school management to this effect on Thursday. — HNS

Euro 9.5m flood aid

Kathmandu: The European Commission (EC) has allocated 9.5 million Euro in humanitarian aid to help flood victims in Nepal, India and Bangladesh, an EC release said on Thursday. “The emergency relief focuses on distribution of food rations and the provision of drinking water, emergency shelter and health-care,” the release said. — HNS
