CoAS off to Australia

KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gen Rookmangud Katawal on Saturday left for Sydney to take part in the Pacific Armies Chief Conference, which is being held jointly by the US and Australian armies. A statement released by the army on Saturday said Gen Katawal has left to take part in the event following concurrence from the Ministry of Defence. He was seen off at the airport by the Australian envoy and military attaches of the other embassies. Lt Gen Kul Bahadur Khadka has been named stand-in COAS. — HNS
