Six held with hashish
KATHMANDU: An Armed Police Force (APF) team on Tuesday evening arrested six persons, including five women, with 82 kg of hashish in Kanchanpur in Banke district. Accoording to the APF headquarters here, the team arrested the six while they were trying to take the narcotics to India. “Those arrested are mastermind Kul Bahadur Raut, 46, Champa Sharma, 32, Dipakali Magar, 72, Mugamati Khatri, 43, Sitalu Puri, 50 and Durga Budhathoki, 24, of Banke,” the APF headquarters said in a press release issued here. — HNS
HSEB decision
MADHYAPUR THIMI: The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) has handed down the responsibility of conducting the grade 11 and 12 examinations to the Regional Offices concerned from this year. All works related to the examination except the task of setting the question papers and announcing the exam dates will be carried out by the Regional Offices, said Member Secretary of the Board, Ram Bahadur Khadka. The Regional Offices have been entrusted with the responsibility of appointing examination centre chiefs, determining the examination centres and appointing invigilators. — RSS
Man abducted
MADHYAPUR THIMI: An unidentified group of people abducted a person hailing from Dhulepata of Dolakha district and currently working at the KP Brick Factory at Jhaukhel VDC of Bhaktapur district on Monday night. Jhamke Shrestha, 32, was abducted while he was sleeping in his room, Police Inspector at Municipal Police Post, Bhaktapur, Dharmaraj Sunar, said. — RSS

KATHMANDU: Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Nepal, Andrey Leonidovich Trofimov, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Sahana Pradhan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shital Niwas, on Tuesday.
