New Chinese envoy

KATHMANDU: The new Chinese ambassador to Nepal will be the first envoy to submit his credentials to the Prime Minister. Zheng Xiangling, who replaces former ambassador Sun Heping, will submit his credentials to PM Koirala on April 19. — HNS

Explain raids: YCL

Kathmandu: Protesting police raids at its three district offices in the valley, the Young Communist League (YCL) on Monday said it will launch a movement if the government fails to clarify why the raids were carried out. Indian aid for schools

KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee on Monday laid the foundation stone for a new building of Shree Ram secondary school at Matihani VDC at a function in Mahottari. The school is being built with a grant assistance of Rs 25.4 million from India. At another function, he inaugurated the newly-constructed building of the Shree Adarsha school at Ratauli built with an Indian assistance of Rs 18.8m. — HNS
