Kathmandu: Prof Dr Kyung June Lee, president of Asia University Federation, on Thursday felecitated 23 people with the Youth Ambassador For Peace Awards. Speaking at the function organised by the Youth Federation for World Peace-Nepal, OK Kyung Kim, Ambassador for Peace from South Korea said, “Today’s youth can create a prosperous future. Thus, youth should work together to bring peace in the nation.” The recievers for the Youth Ambassador For Peace Awards included Sani Maya Chepang, Asmina Ranjit, Amber Mainali, Anup Baral, Dinesh Koirala, Rajendra Dahal, Nabin K Bhattarai, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Sameer Nepal and Nanda Krishna Joshi. — HNS
Ex-IGP’s farewell
KATHMANDU: Nepal Police bid farewell to former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shyam Bhakata Thapa and his wife Anshu Thapa amidst a function at the Mahendra Police Club on Thursday. Speaking at the function, Thapa said Nepal Police has to go through lots of challenges at the present situation, but has a good future. He expressed commitment to help the Nepal Police. IGP Om Bikram Rana and Bidhya Rana presented a memento to the retired IGP and his wife. — HNS
Lost bike found
KATHMANDU: A lost motorbike was found at the house of Saroj Karki in Dadhikot, Bhaktapur, on Wednesday. Karki fell from a cliff in the Lingeswor jungle while he was trying to flee from police. A fake number plate was found attached to the motorbike. Karki is undergoing treatment at the Teaching Hospital, Maharajgung.—HNS
