NSU convention
MADHYAPUR THIMI: Minister of State for Water Resources, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, on Friday said that everyone should work collectively to build a prosperous and glorious Nepal within the next decade. Inaugurating the ninth convention of the Nepal Students Union (NSU), Bhaktapur, Karki said the government is committed to resolving all the problems of the Madhesis, Dalits and indigenous people by holding talks with them. Student leaders Santosh Bhatta, Durlav Thapa, Ganesh Timilsina and Biwash Waiba, among others, accused Maoists and “royalists” of hatching conspiracies to foil the Constituent Assembly polls. — RSS
Master’s exams
KIRTIPUR: The postponed Master’s level examinations of the Tribhuwan University will begin from March 30. The Examinations Committee had postponed the examination because of the Tarai agitation. Daily works are pending as no official has been appointed in the university for the last 10 months, the Office of the Controller of Examinations said. — RSS
Rights body’s appeal
LALITPUR: Human rights organisation Himrights has appealed to the Madhesi Tigers (MT) to free civilians abducted by its cadres from Koshi Tappu in Sunsari district on February 29. Such activities could adversely affect the peace process at a time when the country is engaged in peace building, Himrights said. — RSS

KATHMANDU: Representatives of the All India Migrant Nepalese Association met Speaker Subas Nembang on Friday at his residence at Baluwatar and submitted a memorandum demanding right to cast their votes in the upcoming Constituent Assembly electiions. — RSS
Polling centres
MADHYAPUR THIMI: The District Election Office, Bhaktapur, has decided to set up 109 polling stations for the Constituent Assembly polls. According to Election Officer Gyan Raj Subedi, 104 polling booths were fixed earlier, while five more booths have been added later. The office has set up two booths for temporary voters and 49 for permanent voters in constituency No 1. In constituency No 2, 55 polling booths have been set up for permanent voters and three centres for temporary voters. — RSS
