NMA training
KATHMANDU: Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has imparted basic mountaineering training to some 60 people of the Khumbu area in collaboration with an American organisation. Some 22 foreign trainers of the Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation and 10 Nepalis imparted the ice-climbing training. Distributing certificates to the participants of the training here on Monday, chairman of the NMA Ang Tshering Sherpa said such trainings are important for Nepali mountaineers and they will continue in the days to come. Chairman of the Alex foundation Jennifer Lowe said such trainings would help improve the security of the mountaineers. — RSS
Envoy-Speaker meet
KATHMANDU: Russian Ambassador to Nepal Andrey L Trofimov paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Parliament, Subash Nembang, at the latter’s office on Monday. The duo discussed the friendly visit of a delegation of the Duma to Nepal. The team of the Russian parliament is scheduled to arrive in Nepal in April. The main objective of the delegation is to promote the “harmonious relations” of both the parliaments, Trofimov said. — RSS
