Astro-Council meet

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Astro-Council (NAC) on Sunday decided to organise regional conventions in different development regions to know contemporary astrological problems. Issuing a press release, NAC said the conventions will formulate an integrated agenda to be presented at the International Astrological Convention to be held in April. A nine-member organising committee has been formed in three development regions to conduct the international convention. Keshav Raj Dhital from Eastern Development Region, Tika Ram Bhusal from the Central Development Region and Dinannatha Pandit from the Western Development Region are the regional coordinators. The meeting also decided to mark the NAC’s annual day on Monday. — HNS


KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu district committee of the All Nepal National Free Student’s Union -Unified (ANNFSU-U) is to hold its 15th convention on February 10, stated a release issued after a meeting here on Sunday. ‘Republic Nepal’ will be the main slogan of the convention, it said. The ANNFSU-U has formed a 21-member convention organising committee under the coordination of Tirtha Rai. The meeting also formed a seven-member secretariat comprising Tirtha Rai, Narayan Prasad Acharya, Binod Lohani, Kalyan KC, Lochan Khatiwada, Tilak Rai and Gyanendra Shrestha to support the organisational work, the press statement said. — HNS

Health camp held

KATHMANDU: Three hundred and sixty-five persons of Panauti municipality received free health check-up at a health camp organised by the Subash Memorial Academy on Saturday. Academy’s programme coordinator Santosh KC said they were also provided medicine free of cost. A team of 15 doctors and medical professionals examined the health of the patients. The Kabhre Swastha Samaj provided technical support for the camp. — HNS
