HIV unit soon
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population said on Wednesday that it will establish a 15-bed HIV unit in the Sukraraj Tropical Hospital for People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) within two weeks. The unit will remain open round the clock. The Ministry expressed commitment to establish the centre at a meeting held between the authorities of the ministry and representatives of organisations, including the Advocacy Task Force, Recovery Nepal, National Association of the PLWHA in Nepal, Blue Diamond Society on Wednesday. — HNS
CKDR’s concern
KATHMANDU: The Centre for Karnali Development and Research (CKDR) has expressed serious concern over the continued indifference shown by the state towards people of the Karnali region. In a release on Wednesday, it demanded proportionate representation of people of Karnali in commissions. — HNS

Memo to PM
KATHMANDU: Expressing concern over the non-inclusion of the disabled in the state restructuring process, the National Federation of the Disabled-Nepal submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on Wednesday. It demanded that disabled be included in state mechanism. — HNS
