Courtesy calls
KATHMANDU: A Danish parliamentary delegation paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Subas Chandra Nembang, at his office on Friday. The delegation comprises Members of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament, Steen Gade, Eyvind Vesselbo and Kristen Brasbol. Indian Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon also met Speaker Nembang at the latter’s office on Friday. — RSS
Award for FNJ
KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) has won the “Asian Journalist Award” in honour of its courageous performance for protection of freedom of expression. According to a press release issued by the FNJ on Friday, chairman of Asian Journalists’ Association (AJA) Lee Sang-gee handed over the award to representatives of FNJ during the general assembly recently. — HNS
Cops Kosovo-bound
KATHMANDU: Five officials under the command of Gopal Mishra, SP of Armed Police, on Friday flew to Kosovo to join UN Mission for peace there. The team will monitor the peace process there. — HNS
