Cadre passes away
KATHMANDU: An active member of the Nepali Congress, Toyanath Ghimire passed away on September 28. He had been suffering from cancer. He was born in 1992 BS in Jamune Bhanjyang-7 of Tanahu district. He is survived by three sons. Nepali Congress has expressed condolence to the bereaved family, wishing for the eternal peace for the departed soul. — RSS
Meeting held
KATHMANDU: A district level meeting of the Nepal Loktantrik Tamang Sang has concluded. The meeting formed VDC and ward level units of the Sang. It has also decided to organise another district level meeting on Kartik 11. Central Member of the Sang Bir Bahadur Lama, Rameshwor Phuyal of CPN-UML and Lalbahadur Tamang spoke at the meeting. — RSS
Scout troop formed
MADHYAPUR THIMI: Birendra Military Scout Troop has been formed for the first time in Birendra Sainik Maha Vidhyalaya run by the Nepali Army. Principal of the Mahavidyalaya, Indramani Chemjong said the troop was formed with the initiative of the District Scout. —RSS
Meeting kicks off
MADHYAPUR THIMI: The fifth general meeting of the Madhypur Thimi Engineering society kicked off here on Saturday. Inaugurating the meeting, the outgoing Mayor, Madan Krishna Shrestha pointed out the need to manage the city for the sustainable development of Madhyapur Thimi. He also stressed the role of engineers in managing the municipality at the present time when local bodies are without people’s representative. At the programme organised under the chairmanship of chairman of the society, Krishna Dev Shrestha, speakers pointed out that capable technical personnel need to get organised from the policy-making level to implementation level. On the occasion, a 11-member new executive committee was also elected. — RSS
